Florida Authorities Investigate Fatal Boating Accident
Motor vehicle accidents do not always involve cars, nor do they always occur on land. Especially in Florida, accidents can occur on the water. Many people enjoy being out on the water and if they are not careful, they could collide with another boat.
Earlier this afternoon, Miami-Dade rescue crews responded to reports of a boating accident that occurred off the coast. When they arrived, they found two men injured and two men killed in the accident. All four had been traveling on two long boats that somehow collided in the water.
Authorities are still trying to determine what happened. According to several witnesses at the scene, the two boats were going at fast speeds when they crashed into each other. There were reports that the collision caused some of the men to fly into the air and into the water.
One man suffered minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital. The other man suffered critical injuries that required him to be airlifted to a local trauma center. However, until investigators determine how the accident happened, they will not know whether any of the men were at fault. Investigators do not even know which men were on what boat.
A boating accident like this could have been caused by a number of things. But if it was caused by one of the boat drivers’ recklessness, then the victims of the accident may be entitled to compensation for injuries, medical bills, and even lost wages. At this point, there is no information as to whether the accident was caused by a reckless driver.
