58-year-old motorcyclist killed in accident in Florida
On Aug. 7 at around 3 a.m., an accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger car took the life of the motorcyclist. The collision occurred on I-95 between Indiantown Road and Donald Ross Road near Jupiter. The deceased was a 58-year-old man who lived in Coral Springs. The woman who was driving the car is a resident of Palm City, and she was transported to Jupiter Medical Clinic where she is currently in serious condition.
According to investigators, the front-end of the car hit the motorcycle in the rear and ejected the rider of the bike. The driver of the car lost control of the vehicle, entering the center median and hitting the guardrail. Her car was then rerouted onto the northbound lanes and came to rest on the paved shoulder near the inside lane of the Interstate.
All of the lanes of I-95 in the area, with the exception of one, were closed for a number of hours, during which investigators were taking pictures of the roadway. The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the fatal crash. Investigators have stated that alcohol might have been a factor in the accident.
On Florida highways, as in many other densely populated states, fatal accidents are an everyday occurrence. However, that doesn’t make it any easier to accept the wrongful death of a loved one due to someone else’s negligence. The option could be to file a wrongful death claim in an effort to get compensation for emotional suffering and damages. A seasoned Miami personal injury attorney who specializes in wrongful death claims could help by engaging in a consultation for determining the best way to proceed in building a compelling wrongful death case.
