Woman killed by teenager driving stolen car in Liberty City
An unexpected accident can cause a family to face thousands of dollars in unexpected expenses, along with dealing with the emotional pain of their tremendous loss if the victim died. According to reports, a Florida woman recently died in a car crash because of another person’s negligence in Liberty City.
A woman who was attending her friend’s funeral in Liberty City was hit and killed by a speeding car after exiting the funeral home. The woman was outside the funeral home when she was struck by a stolen car that was fleeing police officers. The car struck three other cars and a light pole before striking the woman. The woman was hit so hard that she flew over a nearby fence. Three police officers were also hurt in the incident. There were four teenagers in the stolen car who have been charged with robbery and weapons charges. Miami police are expected to file additional charges against the driver, including vehicular homicide.
No one expects their loved one will be killed in an accident. Unfortunately, this is a reality that many Miami residents face each year. If the accident was caused by another person’s negligence, a family may want to get more information about personal injury legal options. Part of the process is to visit the accident scene and interview witnesses, review police reports and help determine what happened to cause the accident. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, pain and suffering, funeral expenses and other damages.
When a family loses a loved one because of another person’s negligence they may have the legal right to hold them accountable for their mistake. Although nothing can bring back the loss of a loved one, compensation can help a family move on with their lives.
